Fluid-applied Resources

This fluid-applied case study shares how our team of roof restoration experts helped a retail automotive services company, with national reach, restore the roof on one of their Louisiana properties.
This included restoring the facility’s original roof, which consisted of both metal and Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM). The main purpose of this project was for the customer to bring the surface back to top performance with restoration because they were experiencing leaks on site. The property’s connection to a carwash made it unique, compared to other roofs we’ve restored. Getting the connecting details right was critical for a complete waterproof solution for the client.
For this fluid-applied project, timing was important to ensure minimal disruption for both customers and employees. And while the project had challenges, our team still delivered solid results and service.
Conditions
Since we were restoring a retail property for a nationally recognized automotive services company, there were people coming and going throughout operational hours. This was especially true because of the retail property’s shared roof with a carwash. Towards the end of the project, the weather was rainy. This made it critical for our team to maintain the building’s waterproofing at all times.
Challenges
The primary challenges our team faced while restoring this automotive retail property were the shared roof with the carwash and the existing leaks the customer was experiencing. The roof being shared was challenging logistically because of traffic and isolating leak concerns. With some intensive water testing on site, our team could identify that the leakage wasn’t coming from their roof, but from the carwash. Since this was out of our scope, we could only resolve the issues they were having within our control.
Process & System Information
To provide predictable and consistent results, our team used our systematic communication and proprietary fluid-applied installation processes from start to completion. While working on the project, our production team met with the customer to ensure they had all necessary information.
Our team restored the existing metal and EPDM roof with a silicone solution. This also resulted in the customer gaining a manufacturer backed 20-year Labor, Material, and Workmanship Warranty.
Timeline
This project only took four days and met the customer’s desired timeframe of completion, allowing for minimal disruption.
Outcome & Benefits
This project restored the existing metal and EPDM roof of a nationally recognized automotive retailer with a silicone solution backed by a 20-year Labor, Material, and Workmanship Warranty. Upon final inspection, the results showed our team installed the system to SPEC, and the customer received a better solution.
Although we weren’t able to address the carwash leak, since it wasn’t within our scope, the customer was still pleased with the outcome.

“Yes, I would recommend White Hat Industrial to friends and colleagues after the project they completed for us. The communication their team maintained with us was exceptional and allowed us to maintain alignment at all project stages.”
Mark C. | Manager of Facilities
We look forward to continuing to restore with this customer in the future.
