Reviving Healthcare Roofs in New Mexico

Published by Eileen Ybarra on October 13, 2025

Our team helped a healthcare organization restore one of its locations in New Mexico with 179,400 sf of existing EPDM, Modified Bitumen, and Rolled Asphalt. This included evaluating the existing condition of the roofs, installing new fluid-applied systems, and using proprietary restoration processes at all project stages.

The main purpose of this project was for the customer to bring the roof on their building back to top performance without the disruption of replacement, especially because there were employees and patients coming in and out of the buildings all day.

Conditions

This project had multiple roofs on site, which required completion to be by section. The customer also added a section for our team to restore after the project had already begun.

Challenges

Since there were multiple roofs needing to be restored across this project, our team worked closely with the customer to ensure alignment. The strategic communication and planning aspect was key throughout the installation. While this wasn’t inherently a challenge because of our proprietary processes, there could have been major challenges had our team not made communication a priority.

Process & System Information

To provide predictable and consistent results, our team used its systematic communication with the customer to ensure they had all information necessary and our proprietary installation processes to provide the best outcome.

Ultimately, our team restored the existing EPDM, Modified Bitumen, and Rolled Asphalt roofs with a new fluid-applied restoration system. This also resulted in the customer gaining a manufacturer-backed 20-year Labor, Material, and Workmanship Warranty.

Timeline

This project was set to take 6-8 weeks. However, our team got it done within only 5 weeks.

Outcome & Benefits

The project restored the existing roofs of a healthcare organization, at a singular site. This gave the customer a new innovative solution backed by a 20-year Labor, Material, and Workmanship Warranty. Upon the final walk-through the customer was happy with the outcome and the results. As always, the results made it clear that our team installed the system to SPEC.

“I would recommend White Hat Industrial to a friend or colleague. In fact, I have already done this because the overall experience was so great.”

Robert M. | VP of Operations

Ultimately, the customer received a better solution for their property and gained long-term value.
